kalypso did not, infact, come from the greek nymph calypso, or the brand of lemonade -- it came to be because i had a reoccuring nightmare, which reminded me of "kalypso". after i broke loose from said nightmare years later, the name got stuck in my head, and i eventually started calling myself it.

this is kalypso's introductory web-page. a web-page is defined by Wikipedia as "a Web document that is accessed in a web browser." why isn't this technically called a website? because there's more to this site than you think. and also, this isn't the home page, this is kalypsoade.neocities.org/kalypso. enough rambling on what a web-page is, because that's off topic to the actual goal of this site, which is to inform you on who, or what, i am, duh.

to start, i was born at the age of zero somewhere on earth sometime in july roughly 13 or 15 years ago, assuming this is 2025. i was born with a neurodevelopmental disorder, later diagnosed when i had turned a certain age. why i had brought this up is to remind people that i may need some extra time figuring things out, such as my love for procrastination, or explaining certain behaviors i do that, when scrutinized by a normal eye, may seem unusual. i was also born for a love of music and art, mostly the art of drawing and theatrics. when i was younger, i had started my musical life by first playing the clarinet. before that, i played with a acoustic guitar, but never made anything out of it. nowadays, i practice electric guitar, while listening to my favorite music artists. i mostly do the listening, though. thanks, tally hall and elliott smith! but i thank specifically joe hawley of tally hall. i don't support joe.

i come from greek descent, and it is my first language. however, the only times i will be speaking in greek to my english friends, or post in greek, is when im asked to speak in greek (not guranteed), or when i feel like crypticposting, which is a form of social media posting i do, mostly on twitter, where i say something cryptic with little to no context, usually having a small amount of meaning behind it. why did i mention greek being my first language? well, i make translation mistakes. yes, i call myself fluent in english, but i can still make simple gramatical errors.

hyperfixations, or hyperfocus, defined by Wikipedia as: "...an intense form of mental concentration or visualization that focuses consciousness on a subject, topic, or task." why am i bringing this term up? because i have these things, duhhh. the things listed are my current fixations. NOTE: if something is in bold, it means that i have a strong hyperfixation on it.

oh yeah, have i mentioned that i do not have any organs? however, the only organs i do have is the brain and the heart. i also lack a mouth, which is why in all images of myself (drawn or taken with a camera), i have my mouth covered. pretty cool, right?

nothing too extraordinarily wacky

i have a habit of labelling myself the "#1 fan" of thing; though i do allow other #1 fans of the same thing coexist with me! i usually say i'm the #1 fan of songs, but these are the things i call myself the #1 fan of:

also, random fact, i'm probably the most tamest &/or oddest theatre kid you'll meet; not the sterotypical theatre kid kind, but i'm just a kid whom takes a lot of theatre classes. i don't aspire to be a actor, necessarily, i just love the art of theatrics, as stated a few paragraphs ago.

also, i have a odd taste in aesthetics. aesthetics, defined by Wikipedia as "the branch of philosophy concerned with the nature of beauty and taste, which in a broad sense incorporates the philosophy of art". everyone has a aesthetic, like scene, grunge, you call it. i do too, and it mostly centers around the 2000s; my aesthetic being olderbrothercore (or after hours). or anything liminal, but i think i got my point across pretty well. this also bleeds into my favorite (most played) music artists, but the only exception to this is oliver buckland, femtanyl, or any other electronic artist i listen to. really, applies to every music artist i listen to but elliott smith and other artists like him. i do not know why i brought this up, at all, by the way.

i give my apollo cheese if this segment is too long for you or if it bores you because there is so much to read; i have a unconditional habit of going on rants, especially if its about myself or things i like. that will be a recurring theme if you ever become friends with me &/or stalk my twitter posts.

i heavily apologize if this is lengthy for some viewers, i just want to get my point across in this section. so, i'll be bolding/underlining important parts of this section, because this is the most important section of the site. ignoring this section of the web page and interacting with me even though you are listed on my do not interact/follow list will result in a block. the whole "block" only applies to twitter, really. or any other social media you may find me on, just in case it happens. this list applies everywhere!

what to expect of me

even though i listed some pretty good things in the first box/section, i'll feel free to list all of them here. why i had put this here, is so you can know what i'm like

  • i may need tonetags for SOME messages.
  • i may make kms jokes
  • i will make a lot of references to my favorite media(s)
  • i may forget to add tonetags
  • i sometimes (or may) go on a rant at random, usually about things i have big feelings on
  • i have horrible mood swings
  • i try to stay relatively normal in the hawleytwt subtwt (hawleytwt being a subtwt of tallytwt) THAT is a lot of 'twt's; i do not support joe
  • i can't comfort people easily, and/or i may have a hard time responding to some things
  • i have diagnosed adhd, mdd (major depressive disorder), and sad (social anxiety disorder), which can impact how i socialize in real life and online
  • i have a very hard time explaining some things, so things can come out confusing
  • i can get paranoid by certain messages

just in case you meet me in real life

i have no idea why i added this, but i might as well fill it out for the greater good. to start, i am extremely socially awkward, and this is worse in-person well, not really. i have diagnosed (social, if i remember correctly) anxiety.

it may get to a point where i may not want to talk. i don't call this selective mutism, because i can very much talk, but i feel more comfortable staying quiet, and i will typically write what i want to say. if we're close enough friends, i'll probably talk to you -- yes, i would be wearing a surgical mask. this makes me feel less "exposed"; i apologise if that will weird you out.
i prefer if you call me kalypso in real life, if you know my real name, but i don't mind if you call me my real name, either. i may give you things. this isn't out of any romatic intent, i just like to give people things, specifically people i find cool and/or my friends.
